We agreed a price with Berfa to do some paving, install a balusrade and do steps down to the garden which we were told would take under two weeks. From the start, workmanship was below standard and the number of operatives on site was usually only two who were on site normally 5 to 6 hours a day. Some of the paving had to be relaid after coming loose and after 9 weeks, with work on site getting less and less every week, only half of the work had been completed. All elements of the job were very poorly done and would have needed to be installed correctly. When we complainted about the lack of progress and manpower on site, visits were becoming less and less frequent and shorter and shorted, Berfa just downed tools and walked off site saying they would be doing no further work. So be warned, not only will Berfa do sub-standard work but they will do a few hours on the job when it suits them and will walk away from the job if they pick up a more lucrative job or thework does not go as the would have hoped. I would recommend this company to anyone looking for a hard working and professional business. They were extremely responsive in their approach to my needs and worked very quickly to totally change my garden in only 2 days, which included laying slabs, putting up a new fence and a new gate.
