I have been to 2 detox units in my life this was the worst , I found the staff to be completely unhelpful and on there Web page they say about flexible treatment which turns out to be lies , for coming off herion I was given 1 sleeping tablet at night and nothing else to treat the symptoms of withdrawal, they seem to treat alcoholics much better it seems, there is nothing to do except watch tv or go outside to smoke neither of which I do , on top of that picture hospital food and you end up with a detox I would send a dog to , hope this helps

I was in hafan wen a few years ago I've been in there a good few times I found the place too be fantastic I relapsed a good few times but it's been nearly 4 years now and and am sobo off everythin ectext the subbtex I might just do it out hear nit sure yet but every time I've been in there they have treated me with respect they no me very well and recommended it too anybody who has a problem it's a detox unit not a playground so for the people sayin harsh word's about it they just didn't wanna do it but am proud too say like I sed am clean and soba and doin fantastic the groups are really good soild bace u have too want too do it thanks agen too the staff as they no me pretty well mell and all the staff do there best so best wishes Paul

What a place, absolutely incredible, all the staff were so friendly and helpful, Zoe who takes the group meetings was such an inspiration as was the majority of the staff. Life saving place, thank you so much for all your help Ashley Taylor

I recently stayed at Hafanwen for a 10 day detox. I have been to many detox units and rehabilitation centres over the years both in the Uk and abroad. I can honestly say the staff at Hafanwen were tremendous. I went in for alcoholism and had serious issues with my gait,balance and walking. The staff went out of their way to support and encourage me and as a result my physical well-being is greatly improved. I was shown exercises to strengthen my legs and went numerous times a day with staff around the grounds to build up my strength. I could not walk properly at all when I went in and had to hold onto what ever was available to get around. Ten days later I feel like new person. Came out yesterday (4rd July) and have just walked about two miles without needing to touch or hold anything to maintain my balance I am so grateful for all the help and support I received,the staff were superb.
