Melin Teifi

My ancestors came from near Llandysul and my family took a trip to Wales 15 years ago to visit the area. We stopped at this wool mill on our trip. We bought three wool blankets in light yellow and red plaid. I still have my blanket, and it is my favorite blanket to have on my bed during winter time becuase it is so warm, but also has a nice design. I am so excited to find that they have a website, where others can discover the beautiful products that they make. I hope to make my way back here some day, it is a special place.

When I was in Wales around 10 years ago I happened by this old fashioned wool mill and was quite happy to purchase two beautiful garments from them, one I still wear, but the other pictured below wore a big hole through it withing three years. I have asked for my money back, or a discount on a similar garment, but the mill hasn't responded to my e-mail. I think I paid close to $100 CAD for this item, which I quite liked when I bought it, but it wasn't up to regular wear, sorry to say. The other garment, a lumber jacket, is a heavier weave and is holding up nicely.

If you are looking for Melin Teifi crafts, you have to go to the Wool Museum (free) and the shop is in a building on the other side. I had to ask because I couldn't find it with Maps alone.
