Prestatyn Gates

Overall the gates are great and the team was great, however we did have an incident but it was quickly resolved. The guys came out on Wednesday to fit the gates and after they were fit the chap showed me that everything was fine and all was good, however on the Friday afternoon when I went to use them for the first time I unlocked the top lock, took out the bottom drop lock and opened the latch to open the gate and the entire gate just sheared off the posts and fell on me, they are bloody heavy and I had to call my wife out to help me lift them back up. We leaned it against the wall and we noticed I had a massive cut all up my arm and was bleeding quite badly, I had my neighbour who is a nurse take a look to see if it needed a hospital visit and she said it would be fine just keep it clean. We looked at the gates to see what happened and all of the screws holding the hinges in place had sheared off completely which caused the gate to fall, thankfully I am a well built 6'4 man so it didnt do too.much damaged (par the cut) but if it had fallen on one of my young children it could've potentially caused serious injury or even been fatal. I have taken many pictures of the gates, the sheared screws, the hinges when they fell off and of my arm with the blood, which I sent to Prestatyn Gates as proof I wasn't lying. However after contacting Prestatyn gates they sent out the same guys the following Monday who re-fit the gates with nut and bolts rather than screws and refunded me 50 as an apology. Gates are still standing now but I do have a certain dis-trust to them and will NOT let my kids or wife anywhere near them just in case. All is fine now, minus the big bandage covering my left arm.

A family run business its heart very much in the right place. Anything asked answered professionally and with utmost courtesy. They were flexible when we amended our first order and still stuck to the first delivery date we were given. Product sturdy and well installed, as advertised. Staff were brilliant too on the day. After care superb since as well. I don't hesitate in recommending them. If only all trades people behaved as they do, we'd all be alot better off!
