My first painting lesson and I'm glad I chanced upon this lovely lady who was just what I needed to help me re-engage with my love of art (lost since my schooldays). I had a full day session, two hours before a tasty homemade lunch, and two hours after. I was very tentative but she was a great encouragement, she guided me without taking over and was instructive but not overbearing. She also urged me on when I was dithering so that I surprised myself by coming away with a finished piece at the end of the day that my whole family are happy to have hanging on the wall at home! Had a fabulous afternoon with Jill learning the ropes of painting with acrylics. Very pleased with the results. Highly recommend anyone wanting to give it a go.

What a wonderful time I had with Jill on a four day painting course that I attended this month. I arrived at the West Coast Studio in Talbenny on the Monday morning to be greeted by Jill at her lovely studio situated in a tranquil and picturesque position. I settled in immediately. Jill is so friendly and easy to get on with and instills confidence in oneself. So calm and encouraging. I first held a paintbrush about a year ago. A complete novice and my work was trial and error which slightly improved with practice. I knew it was time for me to have some expert tuition so I looked on the website for someone who would be able to teach me new techniques. Jills website showed beautiful seascapes which is what I wanted to do. Jill was exactly the tutor I was looking for even though it meant travelling down from Scotland to West Wales. I was not disappointed. Jill was able to judge my strengths and weaknesses and I immediately set about creating lovely paintings with her expert teaching. What I learnt over the four day course was incredible. I produced paintings that would not look out of place in a gallery. I now have the confidence to create seascapes with dramatic cliffs, great seas, golden sands with the sea gently rolling in. Its endless what I learnt. I am now heading home with my new found knowledge. Jill is truly amazing. I will be returning soon to learn even more from this incredible lady. So excited now about my new passion. I must also mention the incredible homemade lunches we had sitting in the beautiful garden which added to the experience.
