This is NOT a hotel. It is a tasteful conversion of a small hotel into an outstanding holiday rental property with a fantastic restaurant style kitchen (a reminder of its past as a hotel). There are 7 or 8 lovely bedrooms mostly doubles with en suite. There is private off road secure parking for 4 cars, 5 at a push, we managed 6. The facilities are outstanding. Lots of stairs to manage. Dining seating for everyone around a huge table. Piano, table football, tv/cinema room, private walled garden, bbq area and tables and chairs. Just hop across the road and down onto the sandy beach.

We stayed at Castle View for a week, it was a wonderful location overlooking the North Beach. We could watch the tides rolling in and out via the large bay window in the livingroom. The layout of the house is perfect to give everyone space and also wonderful communal areas to get together and play games or enjoy films in the film room. The dining area was large, open and airy. It allowed us to have bg family meals that we cooked and also from the local takeaways. Meg the owner is super duper helpful, she was available to ask questions about the local area if needed and she has a booklet in the main hall way about the property and the area. Every room is spacious, light, bright and the beds are very comfortable. 7 out of 8 rooms have ensuite bathrooms and there is a beautiful bathroom mid floor that has a very lovely wooden bath. The livingroom has games and books a plenty. If you'd like to just relax and take in the sights then this room is also the best set for that with the two chairs in the window and side tables for your beverage. The kitchen is very big, it was a hotel.so you have all of the usual amenities and some! There is a dishwasher, microwave, a massive cooker, 2 kettles, a cafetiere, loads of plated, glasses, frying pans, baking trays and oven dishes for pies etc. Meg left enough dish washer tablets for the whole week, enough dish liquid for the same and also laundry tablets. There were even bath and hand towels for each person. Absolutely terrific! We only needed to take Beach towels with us which made it so easy! If you attend with dogs, there is a large "boot room" come laundry room available to clean them and keep their food etc. There is a washing machine and tumble dryer plus clothes horses to air your clothing outside or to dry wetsuits (be carefully it is tiled floor so it gets slippery when wet). There are recycling bins and black bins for all of your rubbish through out your stay (black bags were there for us ready to use). Teatowels were also supplied in the kitchen. The garden is long and large and leads down to the parking area where you could probably fit upto 5 vehicles. We has a van and 2 cars and still space for more. Note that the car park has steps upto the back of the house so if your party has anyone that doesn't want to walk far or needs flat, they will be best being dropped around the front. On the topic of stairs, there are many throughout the property but they are wide and the step is low so not like the usual house stair way. The parking out back is via a garage. You drive into one side of the garage which is right of way and you park out the back of rhe garage in open air. You may want to check the height of this if you have a tall van. The location is perfect for North Beach and the shops. If you want to walk the dogs you'll need to do a walk over to South Beach and theh can play in the allocated dog section of the Beach. There are allocated areas at different seasons. This information is included in the booklet in the main hall. There are several sets of keys to the property so if different people in your party want to go out at different times you should all be able to go and enjoy and not have to return back to meet the key holder, it made it very easy for us when we had people woth different needs and interests. I can't recommend this house enough, from start to finish the holiday was perfect. Big thanks to Meg and all that she did for us before, during and after our stay. I would definitely love to return. Thank you for having us.
