However, after a few minutes of sitting down, it became clear that some of the staff were adhering to the safety regulations more than others. While the manager, as well as a few other staff members were wearing visors or masks constantly, several members of staff, including kitchen staff and waiters, were either wearing their masks half-off, or not at all, which totally defeats the object and made me feel a little unsafe.
When the food itself came, the mezze starter was missing hummus as listed on the menu. I had the surf and turf, which comes with half a lobster. Unfortunately the lobster was rather over-cooked and rubbery, but the steak was cooked to spec.
One of our orders didn't make it into the system somehow, although the very polite and apologetic manager did strike it from the bill.
Overall it was a pretty average experience. Had the PPE been taken more seriously I think I would've had a better time, and felt safer. I can understand that things might be a little less than perfect while the place adjusts to new regulations, but there was no excuse for the staff to be pulling their masks on and off all night. I'm sure on a good night the lobster would've been very tasty, it was just a shame it didn't hit the mark for me.
