After our previous review regarding this business, which was honest, justified and genuine, I would urge anyone considering using this business, to reflect on the defensive, unprofessional response of this business owner to our review, which is a reflection of the way his business is conducted. He attempts through character assassination and malicious allegations of insurance fraud, and untruths, to deflect attention from the shortcomings in the work provided and subsequently withdrawn. After our unfortunate experience with John Robson, we have since had several very professional jobs done by other tradesmen in the Tenby area. We were just extremely unfortunate in our initial choice of tradesman.

The quote received was very high but due to timescale, we decided to go ahead anyway. John turned up when he said he would.... always a bonus in the land of the Pembroke promise. However, our experience after that was horrific. Quotes included prices for shower and enclosure as well as wall panels. John did not share the supplier he had costed, and we needed to see the materials he intended to use. When asked to provide us with links etc, John became very defensive and his attitude changed considerably. It soon became obvious that we could obtain exactly the same materials for less than half the price. When we informed John of this, and said we would order them ourselves to save money he became unpleasant and agitated informing us that he had spent hours sourcing the items and that he wasnt happy about it all. He took out the old shower, panels and toilet and after only 24 hours on the job informed us that he did not want to do the job anymore. He simply downed tools, leaving us in the lurch, without a toilet and shower. By the time he made his announcement, we were intact relieved as we had serious concerns about him. His behaviour was extremely unprofessional and his actions clearly were based on the fact that we had challenged his grossly inflated costs for ordering the materials ourselves. Had we allowed him to order the materials we would have been more than 1500 out of pocket for exactly the same materials. He had no answer or explanation for this except to say that he did not have time for this and we clearly had time to price things online. After we informed him of our decision to order ourselves to save the money, he then even attempted to add further costs to his quoted labour costs with no explanation. I would definitely not recommend using this tradesman. Our experience was horrific and his actions were highly unprofessional. Do not be fooled by his ability to turn up quickly to quote! I also would say that although he did finish a small part of our job in cladding a downstairs ceiling, he did an untidy job, failing to fill the gap at the edge of the ceiling properly with silicone bead, and the white ceiling had dirty hand prints all over it and had to be steam cleaned to make it presentable. There were also blobs of silicone left stuck to various parts of the tiling, the toilet seat and the floor, where he had been careless and failed to clear up the mess he made in the process.
