This hotel could be so much more, given a little investment. The welcome is really good and the owner can't do enough for you. The rooms need a lick of paint and there are a few things that need attention. There is a Fish and Chip shop attached to the hotel who's food is served in the hotel. This could be quite good (like a Harry Ramsden's) but it isn't like that (these days). Breakfast is "continental" only. Overall things are a bit jaded with "stuff" hidden behind screen and in other areas. The hotel is clean but needs some TLC.

Dog friendly family run hotel in the beautiful village of Talgarth. Ian was the perfect host, so very friendly and chatty with an obvious passion about what he does. The room was clean enough but a bit more time could be taken to look up and down. Bed was massive and very comfy . Was also surprised to see Netflix available. There is not a traditional restaurant but food is served from their chip shop next door. Very reasonably priced and absolutely delicious! Nicest piece of fish I've had in ages. The only reason I have given 3 stars is that we had room 1 which is at the front of the building - road noise started at around 4am, deliveries at 6am and building work over the road at 7am . Also, blinds are inadequate so if you are photosensitive, take an eye mask.
