Weve been going to this site for 20yrs, and this is the first time weve been since Lyons took over this, and other sites in Tal-y-Bont. Weve always enjoyed our holiday here, hence the reason for returning. Unfortunately, our experience this week was dreadful, and we wont be returning again. On arrival, the caravan we hired had issues. The light fitting in the living area was smashed, the extractor vent was hanging off the ceiling, light bulbs missing , and the batteries were missing from the TV remotes. I went to reception and requested batteries. Later it became apparent that the boiler was not working, back to reception. A staff member came out and it was clear that there was no pressure in the boiler and he had to open the valve to get the thing working. Next morning, no pressure in the boiler and no hot water. Had to put pressure back into the boiler myself just to get the heating on. Back to reception to complain about the lack of hot water. There was a distinct lack of interest and no apology. The staff on reception said that someone would come out to look at it. There was another customer in reception at the same time seemingly complaining about a similar issues. Roll on 2 days later and nobody had been out to see us, so 2 days of cold showers and regretting going to Lyons Caerelwan. Its clear that customer service is seriously lacking here. Obviously no checks had been made to ensure everything was in working order prior to our arrival. A working boiler and hot water is basic welfare. Absolutely dismal and a formal complaint will be made to their head office.
