We booked a private lesson and was told at time of booking that payment was needed in advance which we were fine with. Due to an unforeseen personal circumstance, we needed to cancel our lesson which was in 2 weeks time. After cancelling, we asked if there was a possibility of a refund (as we gave 2 weeks notice) and was told to expect a call back. We tried calling them a couple of times but still didn't get a call back so we decided it was best to pop in and ask. We met a lovely girl who was very polite and quick to reassure that we would get a call soon. After a few hours we had a call from the owner stating that she had told us in advance that the money was non-refundable. If we had been told at the time, we would not have booked. We were told that if we were to have the refund we couldn't book back in again. We would've liked to book in again as we were looking forward to the lesson. Deeply upsetting and very disappointing. Edit: 3 years later we get a response. This was the correct riding school at the time as I wouldn't want to make a crucial mistake and give a good riding school a bad review. I understand things may have changed so I hope you're actually being honest with your deposit policy now. Edit 2: Why are you dragging up a review from three years ago, when you're (apparently) not the riding school it was intended for? Unless maybe it's still the correct company but you want to discredit my experience? I would assume if you were a "new" company and you want a fresh start, would it perhaps be better to remove the profile for the "old" company and create a new one? That way you could recieve reviews for the business you run now rather than hijack old reviews. It doesn't look very honest of you.
