The whole idea was to be maintenance free with our own ailments.. though we were told 'A few weeds would grow" Pictures speak for themselves. Excessive to say the least. Advised us to get the wrong weed control stuff so now it's out of control and will have to be pulled apart at our own expense to resolve.. GREAT.
Requested stairs be built.. got a ramp instead without any consultation until it was already done which i had the joy of falling down once. Highlighted the danger of a wooden ramp with any damp particularly. Don't want my wife having same experience as it is dangerous. Had to add pieces of wood on top to make it at least some what usable but still don't feel safe so will have to correct that somehow.
Now the personal favourite was the rail around edge. Bearing in mind already said pre build, the grand kids would use it. Didn't even consider rail until we had to push and it really poorly done. Attached picture at the end showing pre rail with their plan to just cut it down. Bare in mind the drop down from the edge with kids on it who don't think about the consequence..
Finally, the absolute bug bearer was getting hold of him during the work and not long after. Hopeless responding to texts or voicemails. Yes the job wasn't small but you'd expect at least the bare minimum and we didn't even get that. Frustrated beyond belief.

We chose our own stone and went to the builders merchant to see if for our selves which was good. Agreed our terms and off we went.
We were kept informed of the starting date and after some delay Sean and his team were in our garden every day come rain or sunshine.
Overall, they kept to the agreed terms and dispite the poor quality of the work I was resigned to accept it since the job was priced cheaply.
Within a month a section of the fence had blown down and since then we have learnt that no one will touch it to get it repaired (every single tradesperson has simply wanted to take it all down). They have used untreated tinder typically used for studwalls and screws for fixing rather than bolts.
We have also learnt that the brick egding on the patio is poorly laid which will cause us significant problems in the near future. Mortar in between the patio slabs is already coming off so has lasted only two years.
I would not recommend the use of this business for any job of any kind. They can be very competent but for some reason they will price the jobs cheaply and will cut corners leaving the customer with a poor quality work and potentially a much higher bill to get it right. Ultimately you will be disappointed dispite the apparent good value service being offered by Sean.
