My dad went into the home in September 2020. It was local to us so was very convenient for visiting. This however is the only positive I can say, however the care staff are lovely but overworked. The home looks rundown, doesnt smell very nice and I think its easier to get into Fort Knox!! When visiting, it takes ages for someone to come to the door. Hardly any stimulation for the residents, most of the time they are put into chairs in the lounge and then left to their own devices. Very very minimal staff so hard to find someone if you need assistance. Moved dad into a different home in October 22 and was the best decision we ever made. The Hollins needs a major make over and the problem of staff leaving needs to be addressed. Far more staff needed on duty.

My father stayed here for a month in July before we had to remove him due to safeguarding issues. The staff work hard but they are so understaffed it fundamentally impacts on patient care and safety. The home is too big and there was no evidence of patient centred care and no day time stimulation. The environment was depressing and unclean. Management have no interest in listening to complaints Ben Jenkins (Owner) never returned my urgent calls. Although staff were unable to cope Ben continued to admit additional residents putting further stress on staff and hence compromising patient safety. It seems financial gain is more important than safety and quality of life of his residents. As a family we were left traumatised with what my father experienced and he stated its the worst place hes ever lived! The home is now under close scrutiny and closed to new admissions. Dont leave your family member here its a truely awful home.
