April Court Care Home

After a very brief hospital stay my mum required an emergency placement as she was to unwell to return home. Luckily April Court had a room and were able to provide and care for mum. Mum was at April Court for 10 days and the staff went above and beyond to ensure not only my mum was supported but also my dad who struggled with not having mum at home. The staff, especially Stuart also supported myself and my extended family. The family were able to visit at anytime and my dad remained at the home from morning until evening. The staff supported dad and ensured he was fed and watered along with mum . The care shown was priceless and even though it was a stressful time for the family we felt so grateful that mum was so well cared for. Thank you April Court you are amazing.

Would throughly recommend this home . The care and compassion they shown to my aunt was fantastic . It was reassuring to know she was being looked after well . My aunt was demanding and nothing was ever any trouble for the friendly staff . She sadly passed away there and the dignity shown to us at such a difficult time was remarkable A thank you can never be enough for you all

Poor communication, no info provided on admittance re Covid policy or visiting policy. Care plan not followed. No feedback/updates on how mum was doing and then Manager served notice within 24 hours of arrival. Manager told my 79 year old mum she did not fit in and complained too much and would be leaving within 28 days, leaving her distraught. No communication with family, unwilling to meet to discuss issues or allow a settling in period. Absolutely disgusted with the lack of compassion and understanding shown by the manager. The actual staff however are very nice.

My cousin's auntie was a resident here. She was well cared for by all staff members from carers, Deputy manager and Manager. They went above and beyond to make sure she settled in well and made her feel at home until the end of her life there. As a family we felt supported by a good manager, if we had any worries or concerns she was always available to speak to and reassured us. If you've got an elderly relative that needs caring for, I would highly recommend April Court care home.
