Absurd customer service. I ordered $100 slippers, but they arrived damaged. I reached out to the customer service department, which confirmed the damage by photos, and then I asked about an exchange. It took two weeks of emails back and forth to simply arrange how the return shipping would be paid for. Their solution? Go to the local delivery company of my choice and have them create a quote on official letterhead, estimating the return shipping charges. Only then would they pay for me to return the damaged slippers. There was no promise of a refund until after quality control had assessed the damage? And no guarantee that I would be able to exchange? Look, I get that companies have to protect themselves from return fraud, especially around the holidays; but if I'm paying for a high-end product, I at least expect the benefit of the doubt from customer service when I encounter a problem. Toast has beautiful, beautiful pieces, but for me, it won't be worth the headache of online shopping in the future.
