Lots to love about this site, lovely large pitches, with good facilities and the beach at Freshwater West is fantastic. Wonderful to watch the birdlife. But our trip was spoilt by the close proximity of the site to the MoD firing range. The night time firing on our first night went on till 11.30pm and it was very loud, our dog was terrified. Although the website mentions the MoD and the risk of firing at night on some occasions it's not very obvious so I would recommend you check before booking.

This has to be one of my favourite campsites. We stayed in our campervan and the pitch was very roomy. Ten minute walk to Freshwater West which is my favourite beach in the UK; lovely sand, gorgeous water. Campsite facilities are really good, warm showers, lots of water taps (with really tasty minerally water). Scenery is beautiful and theres a big barn with wifi for wet weather days. My phone signal (on EE) was very good. We didnt have to experience the firing range in action thankfully. Will definitely return.

The campsite is fine. It has everything, tho the shower push taps will drive you nuts. The views are pleasant but unremarkable. There are no sea views, save perhaps a couple of plots. My experience of coastal NT campsites so far shows they have a talent for hiding the sea from you. However what really makes this site stand out is it's ridiculously easy access to a fantastic beach. If beach days and watersports are your jam, this site is outstanding. A drying room wouldn't go amiss but I'm being demanding there. Dry rooms must cost a lot.
