On this occasion I booked a table in the restaurant for myself and a couple of friends, members of my family have stayed here on several occasions and have loved it. The restaurant is cosy with a great ambience, the food was excellent, the service was brilliant, we really enjoyed the experience and would recommend this venue to anyone.

Really enjoyed our overnight spa break at Lletty Cynin. Enjoyed staying in "The Cwtch" where the four of us could stay together. The room was comfortable and spacious. We appreciated the different high quality teas, herbal teas, coffee, mineral water and Welsh cakes that were left for us as well as bathrobes, slippers, towels and bags. The treatments were so relaxing and delivered by very professional and friendly staff. The pool, spa, jacuzzi and steam room were great. A two course dinner with wine and breakfast were included in our rate. The food and service was excellent and the restaurant was stylishly decorated. This offer was great value and worked so well for our group. All of the hotel staff and management were very helpful and friendly. Hope to return soon.

We live near Llety Cynin, have stayed there four times previously and have left good reviews and recommended it to friends. However this time unfortunately our experience was very different. We booked in advance through the hotel website, and paid in full for 2 night's stay for 3 people. The front-of-house staff were friendly and helpful; the rooms were comfortable and clean; and the pool and sauna facilities were good (although small and used as an amenity for local people, so can get overcrowded at peak times). Llety Cynin is a working dairy farm, so the noise and smells are part of the experience. There was no visit from housekeeping during our stay to empty the bins or replace towels/toiletries/refreshments, which was odd; however our main problem was with the breakfast service. Despite knowing the number of guests in advance, each morning we were told that various food options had 'run out' and weren't available. There were only three other covers for breakfast, however on both days it took over 90 minutes before our orders arrived, and each time every single order was not what we had ordered (and confirmed with the waiter), and was lukewarm. We were served a yogurt that was 5 days past its "Use by" (not "Best before") date. When we pointed this out, the waiter did not seem to consider that this was a problem; they just took it away and did not return or offer a replacement. Each time the vegetarian breakfast which was advertised as having two eggs only included one. There seemed to be a complete breakdown of communication between waiting and kitchen staff, and a lack of understanding regarding food hygiene standards. We politely explained our concerns to the reception staff when we checked out. We had paid in full in advance. The reception staff were apologetic and understood our concerns but were not authorised to take any further action or refund the cost of the meals in part or in full without the manager's consent. They took our phone number and email address and promised that the manager would contact us within 24 h to discuss our concerns. After five days with no response, we phoned up and were told that the manager had been informed and would contact us the same day. We made four further phone calls over the subsequent two weeks. Each time we were told that the manager had been informed and would call us back but was unavailable to speak with us directly as they were either "at home" or "in an important meeting". It became clear that the manager had no intention of discussing our concerns. Whilst the failings in the kitchen staff could be explained as the result of poor planning and training, there is no excuse for the manager to refuse to engage with customers to discuss and address legitimate concerns. Despite being loyal customers for several years, we feel that we have been treated with contempt by the manager; and for this reason we will not be returning to Llety Cynin, and would not recommend others to stay there. Food & drinks: Slow service, wrong orders served, and food out of date. Despite repeated attempts to discuss with the manager, they refuse to respond.
