Terrible customer service from start to finish friday afternoon called for travel cot on way down to make sure they had one know one got back to me after 2 calls arrived at so called appartment which was supposed to be suitable for 3 adults and a toddles and month old baby its was awful 3 flights of stairs we were not told about apparently it was in small print about 1 set stairs so hot in pokey little place no drawers to put clothes on no room for cot if they had of bothered given us one called and complained they basically didnt care no saferty on windows which obv dangerous but had to have open due to heat no fans asked for one they said buy it and wwll refund you , no internet they lied said it was in description but we have screen shot to prove it hadnt when we complained they added it to summary of property terrible company no customer service wot so ever will be reporting them and getting money back .

The property on the Strand was lovely and the view to die for. Unfortunately the owner of the property above ours began a complete renovation the day after we arrived. The noise was pretty unbearable for 2 days but died down a bit after that. I rang Powells to try & find out out how long the reno was going on for & some general info (rather than make a complaint) but they weren't really interested. I didn't hear a thing from them all week apart from the standard text to remind us to vacate the flat on time! Zero customer service & I definitely wouldn't use them again. I only hope the owners are aware of how poorly their agency (which probably doesn't come cheap) deals with customer enquiries...

The house was lovely but the interaction with Powells staff left a bitter aftertaste. The safety stair gate we requested was faulty and although we called and send messages no one came during the entire week of stay. You can imagine how this affect a stay with an active toddler. One of the rooms had pretty shutters, what a shame they weren't blocking the light and the kids couldn't sleep there after 5 am. We moved them to the spare beds in the attic and thought problem solved. Then, our deposit was withhold without any notice from the company. It took me over 2 months and 4 chats, calls and emails to get some of it back. We got charged for the extra bed sheets and a carpet stain in a room no one could sleep at. I might not be as disappointed if I wouldn't pay a premium already and the service was swift. But it was far from it and thus I am not intending to ever hire through Powells / Original cottages again.
