Lewis Lewis & Co were instructed by my mother to deal with my late grandmother's estate. Mamgu died mid 2019. A number of years later they wrote to my mother saying they had overlooked (!!!) invoicing my mother for a particular element of their work and now needed my mother to settle the invoice. This caused my mother great upset as mamgu had long been buried by then. I read the enclosed letter and it was very distasteful starting with 'I apologise if this is a little out of the blue...'. Clearly no thought had been given to the distress this would cause. I would not recommend this firm therefore as it would have been better to write off the invoice and not write to our family having clearly failed to keep paperwork in good order in house or raise the matter in good time.

Unless you are selling a large property you may have to wait a very long time to process your contract. They tend to take on more work that they can handle. Being the only solicitors in the area they feel they can take their time.
