A relative had a chair made by this company. This chair, only a couple of years on, is in a horrendous state of repair both mechanically and aesthetically. It was supposed to help someone who is disabled to recline, but also to get out of their chair - which with a regular chair, they cannot do. However, the riser/reclining mechanism hardly ever works and is clearly of an extremely low quality. The upholstery on the chair is worn and frayed, and also is of a terrible quality. This company absolutely cuts corners in their manufacturing, and it absolutely shows. What is worse though? They know who they made the chair for, and why they made it. They were contracted by an initiative that specifically designs these chairs for disabled people who need them modified to ensure that they can get in and out of it. They are refusing to do anything about this chair, either mechanically or about the upholstery because the owner 'should have told them sooner' that something was wrong - which doesn't take into consideration that this has been going on for months, and when the problem with the mechanics first occurred, they were shut because of COVID lockdowns. Their customer service has been just as poor as the materials that they use for their chair. I'm sure that they will reply to this review claiming mitigating circumstances, or with some half hearted apology - all I can say is that if you reading this review because you are planning to use Primacare, or an initiative will on your behalf, then absolutely do not do it. You'll regret it, and end up with an incredibly poor quality piece of furniture that isn't even slightly fit for purpose. EDIT: They replied - not responding to the horrendous quality of their chairs, or their refusal to even try to rectify the myriad of issues. I made it clear in my review that my relative did not purchase the chair directly through Primacare. It was purchased through an initiative to support disabled people with mobility issues. That initiative has contacted Primacare, who will not do anything to help because they claim that they should have been told earlier, even though they were told at the earliest possible opportunity. This review was about their horrendous manufacturing quality and their disgusting customer service, and their reply to it, deflecting without taking responsibility or even apologizing, shows exactly who they are. As I said, if you are working with a company/initiative that wants to get a chair from Primacare, then look elsewhere. They are disgraceful.

My father purchased a riser recliner via Bainbridges and after just 4 to 5 weeks of use it is broken. There is apparently no guarantee, as they claim the damage must have been caused by my 86 year old father, or 91 year old mother. They want half the cost again [650] to put a whole new engine and frame into the chair. We have no way to prove we didn't cause the damage, but I'm close to 100% sure we didn't. My father understandably doesn't want, or need, the hassle. So we plan to buy a chair elsewhere and not one made by primacare. As we don't know what caused the damage, we can't know it won't break again so no point in paying so much to get it fixed. As far as I am concerned it will be a fault from the factory. All I can say is buyer beware and don't rely on your guarantee.

We bought our Porter Reclining Chair 15 months ago for my disabled son. From Countrywide Mobility in Worcester. The chair is amazing for him. It's his Comfy Chair from being in his W/Chair all day at the Day Centre, he's 25yrs old. All has been well, until recently when we had to return the chair to Primacare during lockdown, as the reclining bracket had buckled. Apparently due to small screws put in originally. My son needs a lot of support when sitting, we have Laterial Side Arm Supports as a add on, these are removable. Unfortunately the Laterial Side Arms Supports had caused indentations into the fabric. I asked the CEO of Countrywide if Primacare could provide us with some fabric of Duke Egg Colour. Primacare returned the chair within a week, with a new reclining bracket and arm rest covers of Duck Egg Colour placed on the arm rests, plus extra fabric given to us, the chair looks amazing now. All for a small fee. Primacare has done an excellent job and given us an efficient service during these difficult and lockdown times. I shall defiantly recommend your company to my family and friends. Thank you. Kate & Adam from Worcester

Gladly recommend this manufacturer of going above and beyond their standard product range. They will always look into manufacturing outside of the normal specification of their chair range if it is feasible to do so. Our company has been using Primacare for a number of years and they will always look to help where they can. Good products, helpful staff, and they are always looking to develop and improve their range.
