Marc Hughes Martial Arts Academy

My son has attended for over 3 years now: he really enjoys learning the various katas, and the Japanese terminology for the different positions, stances and blocks etc. It is good value for the monthly fees we pay: there is no contract: Marc has been very understanding, were my daughter is concerned: he offers a lot of encouragement with regards to my son ( he has a few health niggles). What makes this Karate Dojo, such a pleasant place to be, is the way everyone makes you feel welcome: the patience sensei Marc shows to those, who need that bit more encouragement, and help if you are struggling. Karate teaches you to respect those around you, regardless of what walk of life you are from; it teaches you to stay focused, self-discipline, and not to give up. Sensei Marc and the other black belts make every effort to give you a top quality training session; the facility (local community centre) has not so long since been refurbished, giving extra space for students: full length mirrors to aid with coordination, when executing moves and stances. The level of expertise, is beyond my description; I would recommend this to anyone wanting to try Shukokai karate.
