I have been going here for 30 years and they have never failed in their treatment of my animals. Both the vets vets and nurses are friendly and welcoming and always do their best for the animals. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a decent vet.

This veterinary clinic and staff do an excellent job: we have 2 dogs and 2 cats: we have had guinea pigs, rats, hamsters, gerbils and I have brought injured seagulls in on occasion. I was very sad to read some of the comments, as we have been with this vets for quite a few years; in one review it states an Autistic child was upset by Mr Hickerton, I too have an Autistic child, and she has accompanied us on many occasions, and we have never had a problem with his attitude, mannerisms or behaviour; he is one of the better vets we have had, and he is very knowledgeable: he genuinely cares about the animals that come through his doors. We have a dog who has to take Prozac medication for anxiety: she's not the friendliest towards strangers, and she definitely doesn't like going to the vets: but he's really patient with her and he tries his best to accommodate her attitude and quirks. We have medication for her on a monthly basis: we have to get her sedatives for Bonfire night and New Year, and whenever anyone's blowing off fireworks. John Hickerton has been very helpful and has always insisted should there be any problems, come back. (March 2023) Just recently they saved our 13 year old Boxer/collie cross, she had Pyometer and was very poorly off her food, lethargic, vomiting bile: she has made a brilliant recovery, we wouldn't have taken her anywhere else, they are very good vets.
