We went for a Sunday lunch carvery and the food itself was excellent! However the place was chaotic it looked like a school canteen with absolutely no atmosphere. We thought we would be eating in the restaurant side where there were white tablecloths and lovely fresh flowers on the tables but instead we were in the bar area, where walkers with dogs were in and out so it was very draughty. The two young girls who were I think waitresses wandered about totally clueless we repeatedly had to ask for the cranberry sauce that we were told would be brought over to our table. We were going to have a coffee after lunch but at 2.00 ish the lady shouted out no more hot drinks would be served! On entering it was very confusing where we had to go so we headed for the carvery to be told go to the bar and buy a ticket ! We did and found our reservation was non existent and the lady behind the bar asked if we had booked with Sean and told us we shouldnt have done as 7 other people had turned up that she didnt know or expect! Like I said the food was delicious but unfortunately the ambience and chaos means I dont think we will be heading back.
