Excellent food 1st class service as usual

We booked a table using the Vintage Inns app having downloaded in on our last visit to Castell Mynach having seen a notice board with an offer for downloading. We found the gent that served us to be very pleasant and the food was very nice. My disappointment comes from the fact that the offer displayed on the blackboard which was still on display said Rewards at your finger tips, download our app & receive a welcome offer of 20 off your next visit when you spend 40 This is the exact same message we saw on our previous visit hence the reason we downloaded and started using the app. I asked the gent that served us how I get the offer as it didnt show in the app before ordering. He said he would ask the manager but didnt come back to tell us. At the end of our meal I went up to the bar to pay and was served by a young lady, I asked her the same and she said she didnt know, she asked the gent from earlier and he said to look in Exclusive Offers section of the app. I did and there was nothing there. The gent did not help any further and given the young lady wasnt sure herself and actually became pre-occupied with telling who i presume to be the manager that someone wanted a refunded further up the bar, I simply said not to bother and paid my bill. Really disappointing finish to a good visit.

What a disappointment. I make a point of going to Vintage Inn pubs when travelling thru the UK, because I like them. Maybe The Castell were having a bad eveninglovely staff, but no Peroni, the bread & butter on starter were frozen, the steak was over cooked, ice cream came smothered in Choc sauce when requested plain & got served my coffee twice. At no point was I offered another pint, or how the food was. The staff hovered behind the bar on their phones The worst example of a Vintage Inn experience Ive come across. Must do better!
