The location was walking distance to the main town centre in a quiet residential spot not far from the main roads to the M4. This was perfect for us as we were using it as a base to visit nature attractions and yet we could easily drop into major stores like Asda, Lidl and pick up something from the many restaurants nearby. There was plenty of space with 4 bedrooms and the bonus was 2.5 bathrooms which made mornings and evening quick! The kitchen was well equipped and whole house was clean. Once we got the updated phone number, we found there was always somebody quickly answering our phone calls even on a Sunday morning.

Great location to be based for a few days City break with the kids. Accommodating premises, plenty of space for two adults and 6 children to all comfortably have there own beds, without having to use the sofa bed. Located outside of the main town so not so noisy at night time. Great family friendly pub with good food at the end of the street, but far enough away to not be an issue with noise. We used Usk house as a base for exploring Cardiff, and caught the train from Newport to Cardiff Central and back. Newport station is around 25 mins walk from the house, but also has a long stay carpark so was ideal. Overall cleanliness of the house was ok, bedding and towels were all fantastic, although the house could of done with dusting and vacuuming all over, nothing that spoilt our stay though. Kitchen is large enough and equipped to enable a family to cook instead of eating out, the toaster needs to be replaced with at least a 4 slice variant though, as the current 2 slice toaster was painful doing breakfast for 8 people. We really enjoyed our stay at the house and would definitely return and use a a base again next time we explore the area.
