Steve Slates Ltd

It was a complete leap of faith choosing Steve's Slates. Due to 'Lockdown', many roofing/reclamation yards were closed, so purely on the website details and reviews, my husband rang Steve's Slates. They had the reclaimed Welsh slate 'we' wanted, so we travelled with a trailer to collect 270 of them (thankfully there is a garage located across the road as the tyres needed inflating!!!!). The pallet was ready, and wrapped, so they were bought unseen - not something I was comfortable with and my face must have shown this as I was assured that they were "good slates". My husband was pro new Spanish slate (not much price difference) so it was a relief that the roofer was happy with the slates he had to work with. I must confess that I did scrub each of them as they were not all from the same source and a proportion could not be identified as 'purple' as there was so much algae on them ...(a bit crazy I know but they looked great but still aged). The overall result is just fabulous..see photo.

Great place, very helpful staff. Had to buy some slats to cover the roof after getting rid of the chimney. The best place to come for roof slates. Thank you!
