Beautifully restored period property with lovely views over the village to the Dwyryd river estuary and the mountains beyond. Large rooms with comfy beds, period furniture, and modern en-suites. Generous breakfasts catering to all tastes. The owners, Sarah & Ian, are very welcoming and helpful, and are well established in the village, so very knowledgeable for local attractions, etc. Penrhyndeudraeth is an oft neglected village, but it's actually an excellent base to explore this part of Wales, especially with the new bridge over the Dwyryd, and the new Porthmadog by-pass. I stayed at the end of June for a couple of nights, which frankly wasn't enough, so I will be back!

Wenallt guest house in Penrhyndeudraeth is perfectly placed for those hiking the Snowdonia Way - I highly recommend a stay along the way as it proved relaxing and revitalising with Sarah and Ian being very accommodating to the needs of hikers with a dry room and service wash available as needed. the accommodation is of very high standard and breakfast very tasty local produce . It proved a well chosen spot as it is but metres off the trail with the added advantage of not having to walk down to the car park and up again to rejoin the road you just descended - on leaving the side gate from the guest house head towards the festiniog railway station ( Penrhyn) and exit onto the road to once again get back on track for The Snowdonia Way. this was a very pleasant end to the days hike and a re-energising start for the next leg. there are options available within the town to purchase /stock up on supplies for your onward journey
