Food & drinks: We ordered the steak and ale pie with chips This Pie was so well filled, plenty of locally sourced meat that just fell apart, of course we went for a dessert and went for a coffee and whiskey trifle again. Very generous portions.

Came here for an evening meal as we were staying in the village. Service was reasonably quick and very friendly. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. The decor is rather strange (we were in a room with "bookshelf" wallpaper) but the 10 year old who was with us loved pretending it was a bookshop and would find the books we ordered. The range of beers could be better (no dark ales). I would definitely recommend it if you are in the area and want a good meal.
