What an amazing place + was lucky enough to speak to 1 of the volunteers, who took the time to explain how the kiln worked. Lovely, but steep walk up to where the rock was taken from. Walked along + up to the viewpoint. Well worth a visit.

Wonderful place. Worth noting the visitor building and snack stand is to the right of the car park, we missed it when we arrived with the cars parked there. Lovely little and informative ride along the stretch of canal for 5 (Sundays and bank holidays). The kilns themselves are freely open with information boards with ramp access to everything we saw. Walking inside is rather impressive. Didn't manage to go to the top given I've got a fractured knee, but happily enjoyed a few hours there. Some very nice painted canal items in the shop.

Used to love this place before they started decimating the trees and tearing up the track driving to do it. This year the Bluebells are much reduced probably as a result of the decimation More recent visits even more trees chopped down and left to rot I am sure there is some logic to it but I can't see it! The little bridge after the green area which is covered with buttercups later in the year has been removed together with the sleeper walkway. What is the common denominator between Ifton, the Racecourse and the Lime Works which sets these people loose with anti social machinery, mainly 2 stroke, to destroy what others have spent years saving.
