Preece Engineering a thoroughly cowboy outfit bodge it and scarper. There is NOTHING of acceptable engineering standards in what they do. At best they are second rate assemblers of steel framed structures for which they are NOT accredited to BS EN 1090 which is the legal requirement to build steel framed structures, they are working with total disregard for the law even though they claim to be accredited to BS EN1090. The meagre workforce are low skilled labourers who failed to carry out basics such as tightening the nuts onto the bolts for 90% of the fixings they were either finger tight or tightened with minimal torque leaving the structure in a questionable state. They tried to fit second hand gutters clearly recovered from another demolition which were damaged and filthy and they thought this was acceptable. The roof is too short to effectively overhang the gutter and the gap at the apex is excessive because of this mistake in the roof sheet length being too short. The roof leaks via the sheet fixings in many places. Several vertical steels were 75mm too short or one was 200mm too long due to the inaccurate measurements Preece made. Preece is clearly incapable of accurately constructing anything although he uses a laser system which has been proven he is unable to use effectively. The low skilled workforce damaged much of the surrounding property for which they had a total disregard and Preece was also totally blas about the damage. The contract which was said at the outset to take 5 weeks took 6 months and this was due to Preece being incapable of scheduling activities in a logical timely sequence. Preece would think about the next stage only when the preceding one was done thus causing a job stop each time. Their attempt at laying a concrete floor was also to a very poor standard. To employ this outfit is a grave error with the incredibly low standard to which Preece works to, although he will speak the speak, dont be fooled Preece Engineering is a cowboy outfit of the highest order.
