Was following an extra long vehicle being escorted by this company, when a collision between the extra long vehicle and a lorry almost occurred because the pilot vehicle was hanging back behind the lorry being over taken, drifting across 2 lanes. The extra long vehicle landed up pulling back in when it wasn't fully past the lorry, forcing it onto the hard shoulder. This happening seemingly because the pilot vehicle wasnt providing the support it should because they were more concerned about getting off at lancaster services.
