Missing food, Burger delivered on its side, Definitely not having another one from here. 1st and last time I order from this place. No easy way of getting hold of them directly. Food was lukewarm when delivered as well.

I was super excited to try this place out but was immediately struck with this barren, depressing restaurant. Turned up for a birthday meal just after mid day, should have been busy, we were the sole inhabitants of the entire place for what seemed like 2 hours. Why was it 2 hours? Because they took absolutely forever to cook for their only in house guests. The manager had absolutely nothing to do so was browsing Instagram for the majority of the time from a booth near us. They didn't have coleslaw, which wouldn't normally be an issue apart from the fact they're yards from a tesco... The chef got our order wrong, cooking just one side of chicken strips when it should have been two. So the manager decided she was going to yell at him for 5 minutes while we sat there waiting for our food. Once it arrived my burger bun had been sitting under the lights for so long it was rock hard. The chicken was hard. Our booth wasn't clean, chewing gum stuck to the floor. Honestly I would have come here over and over and over again. The food is my style.. but this first experience has just become my last. This place was empty driving by on at least five more occasions. Its not going to be around much longer.

I Gourmet Poor The highlights Raw uncooked food Charged 100 for items on menu that were not available Refund refused 1 member of staff serving entire restaurant Barman unable to open wine or make cocktails as untrained. On Saturday 9th October we attended the Newport branch of Gourmet 4 for a much anticipated anniversary meal. Upon arrival we browsed the menu and ordered an paid for the Bottomless Brunch with much excitement and anticipation. Eventually after 40 minutes a member of staff came over and explained that he was the Waiter/Barman/Manager/Receptionist and the only member of staff serving in both the bar and restaurant that evening and He was unable to make or serve any alcoholic drinks as he did not drink and did not understand how to do it. He could not open wine The bottomless Brunch we had paid for did not exist and no we could not have our money back. Obviously we were rather shocked by this as we had paid for drinks and cocktails. In the poor beleaguered Waiter/Barman/Manager/Receptionist defence he did allow us behind the bar to pick any drinks we wanted as he was unsure of what else to do and was dealing with numerous takeaway orders. We managed to source 2 bottles of sparkling wine which we then had to open ourselves as the Waiter/Barman/Manager/Receptionist did not know how to. When the food arrived it was adequate fast food, not awful but to describe it as gourmet would be akin to describing Johnny Vegas as beautiful. |The food was interesting served without condiments or cutlery, when we managed to lasso the Waiter/Barman/Manager/Receptionist he managed to source cutlery but advise condiments were not available. I dont know about anyone reading this but to me a dry, unsalted, un-ketchupped chip is a crime! We then ordered pudding 2 cheesecakes and 1 brownie, we received 1 cheesecake and 1 brownie. After 15 minutes we enquired where the other cheesecake and were told by the Waiter/Barman/Manager/Receptionist sorry were all out. No heads up no apology no alternative. We then asked the Waiter/Barman/Manager/Receptionist for an alternative and he offered apple pie which we accepted. When the apple pie it arrived it was frozen, not just a not defrosted properly little bit of ice frozen, properly hit the table it thuds properly frozen! My husband being a bit Bear Grills and muttering about Fawlty Towers gave up and quietly sucked his apple pie lolly in the car on the way home whilst the rest of us gave up and left. Following this I contacted Gourmet 4 regarding the experience which breached numerous trading standards, food hygiene and other regulatory regulations to say nothing of the woeful customer experience and they offered me 20% off valid for one month if I go back. Legal action is pending. would give 0 stars if this was an option,
