Cant thank Peter and Ellen enough for coming all the way up to Raglan garden centre to rescue a pair of swans who had some how landed in the garden centre but couldnt take off due to lack of space they need to get off the ground. Such amazing people:)))

We came across a very ill swan at Roath Lake barely able to move and starving. These two guys gave their time and used their own transport at their own cost to take the Swan back to Newport and then to a convalescent facility in England. Well done you two, far more worthy of an OBE or other honour than some of those that receive such awards. Good people.

Thanks so much Peter & Ellen for dealing with the Swan stuck on the Pont Ebbw roundabout Newport today. You both do a truly wonderful job looking after the welfare of our local swans! You are heroes in the wildlife community! Thank you!

I don't know what to say - but on the behalf of everyone who tried to help rescue a young 1 year old swan at Yate Common today - A HUGE THANK YOU to SWAN RESCUE NEWPORT - Peter was amazing - after a traumatic day keeping birds, dogs etc away from this beautiful creature he came to our rescue thank goodness AS the RSPCA, SOUTH GLOS COUNCIL, BRISTOL RSPCA or BRISTOL ANIMAL RESCUE CENTRE or the POLICE did not want to help or could not help. I was utterly disgusted with the RSPCA - I was calling for 4 hours for help. And I know of another couple that also tried and got through but could not tell us when anyone would come. Meanwhile 5.1/2 hours later still no sign of the RSPCA but thankfully The SWAN RESCUE NEWPORT came to the rescue as the swan was clearly now stressed, had not had any water or food since for least 7 hours. When we helped with the rescue (which was not helped by a labrador dog off the lead that started attacking the distressed swan) - and got the swan back to the car we gave him some water and he went mad for it and then Peter put some food by the side of him and he just ate and drank for a good 5 mins. Peter's wife was really lovely, knew how to handle him well and calm him down. What a fabulous rescue service they are. I am now cancelling our subscription to the RSPCA and redirecting it to the Swan Rescue Newport.
