Steve was very helpful on what was needed to set up a tank from nothing. Got everything we needed bar the fish in one go. So helpful will definitely be going back for anything tank or fish related!

I purposely left a good amount of time to review Steve and Newport Aquatics so I could give an honest review based on multiple visits and communications. The first thing youll notice, especially from Steves content on Youtube, is that he is truly passionate about what he does, and it shows in the care he gives to the fish he sells. Youll notice that his fish for sale are very relaxed and often come up to the glass. This is the opposite of what youd find at your local garden centre. A perfect example of this is when I purchased some ember tetra from a local garden centre a few months ago. I was told its best not to buy many to start with, as it could upset the ecosystem of my new tank. They suggested I buy four embers. I thought this was strange based on my own research, where I found that these fish are better in numbers as they are schooling fish. Over the next few days at home, my garden centre ember tetra were often scared and distressed. I spoke to Steve about this and purchased some more ember tetras from Newport Aquatics. Upon visiting, I noticed how vibrant and colourful his fish were compared to the garden centres...even the tropicals! I purchased six more ember tetras this time from Steve, and as soon as they entered the tank, the others came out of hiding. All ten now live happily, and I can easily tell the fish apart as Newport Aquatics Ember Tetras are so much more orange! I continue to come back and buy live plants and other items. Steve is quick to respond via Facebook Messenger, and he is so good at giving expert advice. Im glad I found this tiny little gem of a shop. Hats off to you and your hard work, Steve.
