Is this what passes for public healthcare in 2023? Accountability? Have to agree with the experiences of others listed, majority proven objective facts, not subjective dismissible feelings. The purpose of this review isnt to disenchant or disenfranchise clients who require clinical support from disengaging with the service - its to pass on key lessons to anyone, patient or carer, frustrated by the low levels of service support provided. Remember, many CPNs are lions led by donkeys. First significant issue is speaking to anyone. Ringing 786000 rarely results in anyone from reception actually answering the phone. Keep in mind receptionists arent clinically trained. How is this farce legal? The phone rings, subsequently rings off unanswered or remains engaged by other patients unable to get through either. All compounded by tucking away the duty desk number (0330 clinical/CPN staffed) well out of the public realm. If your care-plan is a shambles, if your medication reviews are worse and the whole mess appears one dollop of incompetence, youll be tempted to self discharge. Dont! This much Ive gleamed: a) Contact a local mental health advocacy service. If you attend with an advocate, your options and clinical outcomes can improve. b) Keep records of who you speak to, are seen by and when to make screening, parsing and reviewing key discussions easier when referring back. c) Remain diligent and vigilant maintaining copies of letters, any correspondences received and key conversations. d) See point a), contact a local mental health advocate. Dewis.cil are highly recommended. Be polite but assertive and try to keep the faith. If you have to complain, complain through the appropriate routes. Mind in Newport should also be on your immediate radar too. Theyre no panacea of competence either but at least they answer the phone. Underfunding and excuses around resources only stretch so far.

*edit* On 20/04/23, they will decide to treat/help me or not. I have been calling them for 2 days straight (and was supposed to get a phone call from them yesterday, didn't happen.) whilst crying because I'm scared that I won't be able to stop myself from another attempt. But hey, it's fine. They told me to ring my (new) GP for a mental health assessment even though they have done that twice themselves... Refusing care, purposely bullying me, allowing me to self-harm and attempt suicide, not listening to my literal cries of help. These people are maniacs!!! It's been well over 2 months since my (first) assessment. Since then, I have had 3 days' worth of 'valium', the police called on me when I tried killing myself, countless unanswered phone calls, etc. You get the idea; I've been given nothing, and they want me to die. If that wasn't the case, they would at least not have made it impossible to get my antidepressants and given ANY form of support at all. But no. Nothing. Absolutely nothing. It is astonishing how badly I've been treated by the NHS in all of her aspects, and nobody cares. Literally, nobody. (GP removed me from their list because of my mental health). I hope you all experience the same kind of bullying from government bodies that are immune and leave you in the sh*t. Should have let me end my own life on the 8th, I would have had 17 days without suffering by now.

Extremely concerned about the care being given here. A thorough investigation needs to be done about this place both internal and externally to avoid any cover ups here. A lot of people undergoing a diagnosis or treatment here at NHS gold tops are being failed. The lack of transparency and honesty is appalling someone needs to take accountability. When someone is seen they should have information in the form of a letter and have some type of correspondence to acknowledge they are in the care of the NHS when at this service. You have played with my life and I know many other peoples lives. A complete culture change and restructuring of this service must done or many people who have been referred to this service will be failed leading to serious consequences as a result of not getting the right plan put in place or treatment. It is that bad I believe and Im sure many others would agree this place needs to exposed for its failings here. I would even strongly suggest undercover work be carried out such as from BBC panorama or Channel 4 dispatches this place is definitely in that category. I have been suicidal, a risk to others even to the point where I have been isolated all alone by myself for months to keep myself safe with no support. No one should live like this and over the course of 3 months the communication has been poor I have been calling constantly only to be told someone will call back and they never do. Going to appointment and finding out that the consultant who you are seeing has no information on file due to lack of communication in the team as a whole having a devastating impact on my health. After this terrible appointment i receive no further information until I continue to call repeatedly over the course of one month only to find out over the phone I have been discharged by them with a plan put in place by a Doctor, however, where was the information in writing regarding this why was I not informed despite the numerous calls and pleas for help. I was then told if I want further help they cant do anything I must go back to my GP and make another referral to be seen again. Disgusting and shocking. There will be an Investigation coming and Im sure this place will get a big shock.
