Excellent food. Good service. We were allowed to park the campervan in the car park and they kept the toilets open for us which was great. Lovely spot with a steam and some ducks

Im not usually someone to complain, especially as we want to support vegan businesses, but we had the most disappointing roast dinner here that I think Ive ever had. Me and my girlfriend came here for an anniversary meal, after hearing about this place in the news we had to come down and try the big sharer mixed grill. Turns out on sundays theres only a roast dinner menu, which wasnt made that clear, but probably my fault and I should have double checked. So we make do with the (pretty restricted) Sunday menu. Our roasts came and nothing about them was roasted. Everything very soft and limp, even the very small portion of 2 roast potatoes werent roasted. They tasted and looked like they had been roasted, left to go cold then reheated in the microwave as they were wrinkly and spongey. The main part of the meal seemed to be 3 whole floppy carrots. We spent weeks with this booked thinking we were having something else entirely and very excited about it. Fully disappointed with the option we had. We even explained this to the waitresses, that we werent happy with the food, not just that it wasnt what we originally came for but the fact that it was a really poor effort for a roast dinner, very disappointing, just for them to say oh sorry and then still charge us 57 for it. Felt like wed been robbed. Driven miles and spent a big price on a really poor meal, felt like there was no effort put into it, and they were leaning a lot on the redefine meat flank to make the dish. The steak in itself was alright, but obviously thats just a fake meat product I could get anywhere, and it felt weird for it to be part of a roast dinner. Im certain I could have made a MUCH better roast dinner myself at home with 5 of Aldi ingredients. If the roast dinner was actually good then we would have most likely come back for the mixed grill, but sadly we will not be coming back here. Ill be getting the juicy marbles steak from Waitrose and making it myself. For comparison, we went to the barn vegan carvery in rugby last week, and we left there feeling it was one of the best roast dinners weve had.
