I took my vehicle in to be looked at due to electrical issues that had already been established at another garage, who were unable to complete the repairs. We took the vehicle in and I understood that it was a busy time so waited for 2 weeks with no news. I contacted them to get an update, at which point they said that it would take a lot of hours for anything to be done due to the electrical issues. So I said I will likely scrap it due to the cost, but asked if they could find out how much the ECU would be, which may fix the problem, and that would confirm whether to go ahead with the work. Up to this point we were only aware that a diagnostic check had been completed. The garage said they would get back to us about the cost so a decision could be made on whether to go ahead with the work or not. We heard nothing for 2 weeks again, and so in the meantime, made arrangements to scrap the vehicle and called the garage to arrange collection. We then had a bill for the diagnostic repair which was fine but also the part that we had not agreed to plus labour. I had not agreed to this, so work should never have gone ahead nor should I have been charged for this. It did not help that the work did not even solve the issue. The garage said they did us a favour by getting a cheaper part which was appreciated, but this was not the point as I should not have paid at all for work I did not agree too. My father went to collect the vehicle so I was not made aware of these issues until I had the vehicle back and had made arrangements for the scrap. I received the car back with the old ECU chucked on the seat, along with half the dashboard missing and not put back. I rang the garage back to query the issue with being charged for work I had not agreed too, and was met with poor customer service and someone who would not let me speak. This is a real shame, as this garage have had a lot of business over the years from myself and my family, but I will no longer be using them and would not recommend, due to the poor communication and bad customer service I received.
