My experience with Parkmans has been appalling. Its a shame Google reviews dont offer a minus stars option. Landlords, if you use Parkmans to Let your property, your tenants will leave. As a tenant, Ive been consistently confronted with Parkmans complete incompetence and poor business administration. The list is endless, however here are just a few examples of what Ive endured in the months Ive been renting from them: Days after moving in my electricity went off and didnt come back on for a full week! This was in November! I had no light, heat, internet (I work from home), no way of charging my phone, and lost a fridge and freezer full of food. Parkmans did Nothing. Not only did they have absolutely no concern for my welfare, they proceeded to charge me the weeks rent that I was unable to live in the property and offered no compensation for the perished food. Throughout my own investigations, spending hours and hours on the phone to various electricity companies and organisations, it transpired the property had been fitted with a card meter and the only short term fix, until my electricity company could take over the supply, would be to top up with a card that only Parkmans had access to. Not only did Parkmans did not supply me with a card, they proceeded to tell me it was the tenants responsibility to know what kind of meter is installed before moving in! What?! How?! During the distressing week Parkmans did not answer emails and just left me in my awful predicament. The communication in general at Parkmans is unacceptable. Responses to emails always take at least a week, if a response is received at all. Tenants are not made to feel like valued customers at all. Ive been spoken to in a continually dismissive, patronising manner. Even at an inspection, I was asked intrusive questions that were nothing to do with the property. I could go on and on but I hope these few examples give an informed illustration of my awful experience. I keep an immaculate home, am a considerate neighbour, pay all my bills on time, yet have been treated abysmally by Parkmans. Others have had the same experience because the property I have moved out of hasnt had a single applicant and remains vacant. If a competent Letting Agent were dealing with it, it would be snapped up. Use Smart-Let Wales. They have the knowledge and systems in place to manage a Lettings Agency. They ensure both Landlord and Tenant feel valued and respond to communications within 24 hours but usually within hours. They deal with any issues promptly and thoroughly. Its 2023 Parkmans. Keep up!
