More concerned with getting more money from you. Doesnt actually seem to do the work just sits there expecting the client to advise him on the building and watches his young lads working. The boys are actually decent and with a good tradesman could go far. Gareth would disappear for a week then phone and say he needs more money. We knocked him on the end and got trades in our selves to finish. He also didnt concrete or lay a DPM or DPC inside the door threshold so damp is a constant problem. Terrible service

They walked away from the job and left it unfinished, they took almost all my money. The job turned out to be twice the price quoted. I now have to pay more to another builder to finish the job. Some days he did not turn up. The job started 4 months ago, as they have only been turning up occasionally some weeks not at all He charges 300 per day for 3 workers however he himself does no work. He sits in his van all day doing nothing while the younger builder and apprentice do the job. I have since found out he regularly leaves jobs unfinished, just google his business name, he is a liar...

Gareth came to quote for some building work in December , everything seemed ok in the first few weeks then work slowed down , we discovered this was due to him not paying the subcontractors plumbers and electrician for work they had done so far , Im two bathrooms without all plumbing completed an attic conversion with no electricity and paying twice for attic stairs once to Gareth Thorp and secondly to the joiner who hadnt received a penny for them , also gave him 70% deposit for bi folds totalling 2000 only to find that they were only 1800 in total and again they not been paid , he is the worst kind of builder as he befriends you and lulls you into a false sense of security , he took weekly payments sometimes over 3000 a week , when we stopped payments at 90% of money paid he advised he was broke and owed all these people money , even asked us to loan him the money , Beware of this Oscar winning actor who from what we now read has done this to many more people , dont employ him , get a proper builder and dont end up counting the cost like we are
