Alex C Harvey is a superb solicitor. He went over and above to give us the help, support and information we needed to win our case. I wouldnt hesitate to use him again in the future. I will recommend Alex to anyone for sure and thank you again.

The only way I think this review could work is if its written in three parts: To start with, the first solicitor we were assigned for the purchase of our house was really poor as they would ignore our emails (sometimes for several weeks) and not reply to a phone call, and every time we tried getting an update we got a sorry they are busy right now, and we got the same thing with the assistant. The solicitor would often blame the assistant or secretary saying she never got the message. A while after, that solicitor left suddenly - we werent even told until the day they were leaving (and only because we called) despite being at a crucial stage in the process and we were waiting for her to call us back about an important update. It was a panic as they tried to hand everything over to a new solicitor. We got assigned another solicitor, Abbi. And I must say communication was much better, and way more friendly. She was way more helpful, happy to explain things, so thank you for that Then, the third part. On the day of completion we got an email at 9:30 in the morning saying the purchase was complete, only to find after driving for 2 hours that it was a mistake and that email was just automatic. We waited around and called a few times until 3.30pm when we called and they said that yes, now we have completed and we could go and collect the keys. When we turned up to the estate agent we had a voicemail to say actually the funds were sent to the wrong solicitor (how do even solicitors make that mistake? Im not sure). CJCH said that the seller changed solicitors at some point, whereas the estate agent said they used the same company the whole time. Luckily, within an hour they managed to get the money back, sent it on and we still managed to complete that day. It seems to me that CJCH solicitors may have more work that they can efficiently handle. If you are a first time buyer you might find it a bit difficult with them (if you dont know how it works, you wont know when to expect an update, what questions to ask, and what youre waiting on next - you kind of have to push to find out) however I think they are starting to use a digital portal to provide updates, Im sure that will help.

I contacted CJCH in a desperate hope they would stand up for me in court against my landlord. And when they informed me they could help and would cost me 300, I was well over the moon. But Unfortunately 300 was just the start of it! and when Alex video called me which by the way was only a 10 minute call. I asked would he be standing up for me? He said no this is just for legal advice, If you would like me/us to stand for you then your looking between 600 and 700, and It seems the lady you spoke to had her wires crossed. So I asked what do you mean? I was informed 300 was for it all. And he replied no this is just for legal advice. :O Like seriously 300 for a 10 minute video call which 96% of the things he said I already knew!! What an absolute rip off!, I can't believe I paid 300 for a pointless 10 minute call. I will never use or recommend this firm again not at the prices they charge. I just wish I used my old solicitor from a different county who only charges 80 for legal advice!! but I didn't realise (lack of knowledge) they could help me anywhere I go. -100 stars from me for misinforming me and for the cost.
