        Loved this place when I was little, was surprised to see no wildlife ! There used to be geese, swans and ducks. Still a great place to escape

        The steep incut valley walls are awash with bluebells and wild garlic in the spring. In summer the wood provides welcome cool shade and quiet after a visit to Caswell Bay. A third of a mile inland, the split in the valley is the site for the roundhouse, a traditionally crafted and green roofed meeting hall for all to use. From here, the paths lead to Bishopston, Holtsfield, Owens Field and Summer Lane, Newton.
