Great food in a very well presented restaurant. A real effort to please and keep te place ship(gondola)-shape. Keen staff but where was the atmospheric Italian music, surely they could slip in the odd track to please us oldies and make us believe we're in Italia. Take me back to Sorrento...

Hoped for a great experience, but very let down by poor service that could have easilly been avoided with some attention and communication. Incorrect starter served and sent back, the replacement didn't arrive until after the rest of my party had eaten, then I watched as it was given to another table by a waiter - who apologised to the other table for the delay, despite the rest of that table not having starters! I then saw another waiter further apologise to the table that received my starter by mistake, advising that they had been given someone elses food, so he was clearly fully aware of the issue, but made no attempt to communicate with me, nor to rectify! When our mains arrived, the waiter didn't know what one of the dishes he was bringing actually was, then handed dishes to the wrong people in our party - 'who had the carbonara?' 'Me please' - OK ill just set this down next to someone else?!? Brilliant! We had to make a point to have the starter removed from the bill, to which the waiter seemed surprised and apologetic, despite clearly bring aware as he was the same chap that apologised to the people it was mistakenly given to! Likewise, as petty as it may be, we had to ask for black Peper and parmesan, rather than being offered. The food we did receive was OK, nothing to set the world on fire, so I wouldn't bother returning. I can forgive mistakes being made, but I can't forgive the lack of effort to make amends and left very unhappy!
