We have stayed at Tawelfa for a number of years. It is a lovely property - we always feel at home at Tawelfa. The house is really well equipped with everything that you need for your break and the owners are really very responsive and helpful if you ever have any queries. There are two bedrooms one a double and one a twin. The beds are really comfortable and the house quiet - it's recently had brand new double glazing and we were quite surprised how quiet it was when it got a little windy outside. There is a bathroom upstairs with bath and electric shower - perfect after a cool beach walk. There is also a toilet downstairs. The house is dog friendly and our dogs have always loved visiting. The house really is a home from home. It is really cosy with underfloor heating, and in Jan it really does stay cosy and warm; great to come back to after a coastal walk. There is a garden with patio seating which overlooks a nearby stream that runs at the back of the property. The area is very quiet and we have always found the locals to be really friendly and chatty. As you walk through the village you may be treated to the view of snow capped Snowdonia depending on the season. We have stayed at Tawelfa in both winter and spring. You can get glorious sunny days on Anglesey in January too, you just need to wrap up. There are a number of beautiful coastal walks nearby. The house is less than 1 minute from the village shop, chip shop and about a 4 minute walk to the Kinmel Arms which has a range of really good ales and is a good pub food with pleasant staff. Part of the pub is dog friendly. The Kinmel Arms sits in the bay of Moelfre. Benllech is about 7-10 minutes in the car and has a variety of shops and supermarkets, also a pet shop, and various takeaways. Lligwy Beach is nearby and is around a 20 minute walk via the lane or a little longer via the coastal path. There is a car park at the beach, you do need to pay for the car park, but you can now pay by card. It is the most beautiful beach, dogs are allowed, and there is a beach cafe with events that usually take place in the summer (there is a bar!). It is also open in winter for hot drinks, cakes, and pizzas. The beach is one of our favourite places to visit and our dog loves walking and paddling there. If you are lucky you may even see the local octopus in the fishing traps! Tawelfa and Moelfre have become a sanctuary from our busy lives and living in a town, working in a city. It really comes highly recommended as a base for exploring Anglesey as it feels homely and welcoming, and has really good facilities.
