Amazing Welsh Cakes! Im generally a fan anyway, but these take it up to a whole different level! Very reasonably priced. We bought 10 cakes and thought they would last a while, but after trying the first one my wife and I finished them within a few days. I will now stock up every time I pass.

Second time in having welshcakes from you in Trago Merthyr and they certainly do not disappoint, beautiful and fluffy and a decent size to have one (or maybe 2) with a nice cuppa Ive tried a number of Welsh cakes from other traders in our area and yes they are nice but these absolutely knock spots off all of them ,we will definitely be coming to you from now on for our welshcakes, even mine dont taste this good.thank you and keep up the fantastic baking.

I'm from the US and came to Wales on a family history quest. I stumbled on Bakestones Welsh cakes in the Cardiff market and fell in love. They were exquisitely delicious and I so enjoyed watching the cheerful women roll them out in great number. We went back multiple times for more. So I was thrilled when I came to Merthyr Tydfil, the home of my Jones line, to stumble on the the shop by Trago. I learned the shop is owned by the daughter of the Cardiff shop. She was well trained. They have created a legacy for their family that benefits the rest of us. I bought a 1/2 dozen to eat with the friend who was my guide for the day. Then I went back and bought a dozen more because I knew I'd be in trouble when I met up with the rest of the family if I didn't have some to share. I loved the lemon curd, but each one was scrumptious so I can't pick a favorite. I've always been grateful to be Welsh. Now I have another reason to feel that way! Stop by the shop and have some warm off the griddle. Then be sure to get extra to take home for tomorrow.
