Although a nice little cottage, it's not dog friendly, it has no back garden, you can walk dog up the lane, on arrival the place was freezing, no hot water, we had to figure it all out. Dogs not allowed on beds carpet area or sofa, but no stairgate to prevent this also log burner but no fire guard if you have children. Cramped to sleep 7, only 1 loo. Amenities are not local. So if coming in winter bring own logs for log fire as non supplied, little things make all the difference, the place being warm, milk for a cuppa on arrival, somewhere to hang wet clothes to dry.?

We have just returned home from a weeks stay at Fythwyrdd cottage. It is a lovely cosy cottage, with the most beautiful view as you drive in and everything that you need for self catering with children. The log burner was especially welcomed during the storm! It's a brilliant base for exploring, with so many attractions within an easy driving distance. The village is also nice and quiet and there was the added bonus of having off road parking opposite the cottage. There was so much to see we needed more time! The nearby lake is well worth a visit, with a 9 mile route and fantastic views. Conwy Falls is beautiful, only takes around 30 minutes to walk round but a beautiful waterfall. We also discovered a fantastic cycle/walk route in the village of Dolwyddelan, through the Cwm Penamnen valley. We accidentally stumbled across it but it was well worth it. A fantastic week surrounded by stunning scenery, in a lovely cottage!
