We enjoyed our stay overall. The lodge was gorgeous, nice big kitchen/dining area. The coffee machine was a great addition too. TVs in the living and bedroom was a bonus. However. this lodge was missing little things I would normally and have previously experienced in similar cabins. No salt/pepper and needing to drive 20 mins to the nearest shop. Only one tea towel- yes there was a washing machine but no tablets/liquid to use this. Kitchen spray but no dishcloth to use. We arrived on 12/12 and no Xmas decorations which was also very disappointing as we booked for our Xmas get away. Previous lodges we have been to have provided slippers, robes, small treats like chocolates etc. Our biggest disappointment is that The hot tub simply couldnt be used properly. There was not Enough water in there and the temp never heated fully the whole time we was there. We used this for a whole 10 mins of our 4 night stay because it wasnt hot enough. When we used the jets in the hot tub the water would just squirt all over the decking leaving it so slippy so we was left with a half empty cold tub as to why we didnt use. Very disappointing. The hot tub cover itself was very old and damaged possibly why it never heated up fully. Feels a real shame as the main reason we booked was for the hot tub and because we couldnt use it let down the whole experience.
