Bought charts and a thread online, very reasonably priced. Chris was very helpful and found this particular thread which I couldn't find anywhere else! Many thanks.

Very happy to have visited The Nimble Thimble on the way back from our holiday. It's in a tucked away little place but there was a sign out by the road which helped us find it. It's a lovely little shop dedicated to cross stitch. Quite rare as a bricks and mortar shop so a treat to browse through. You'll find thousands of charts and patterns to choose from with many as ready to go kits. Mostly American designer's charts which are difficult to obtain in the UK. As a beginner I wanted to look at different fabric to see if I can progress from using Aida to a linen or evenweave. The shop owner was extremely helpful in firstly showing us where everything was in the shop but she went through with me the different counts of fabric she had and was even so kind as to give me a few offcuts to try. This place is a must visit for stitchers. Be warned... You'll spend all your pocket money !

Chris really has an eye for framing when it comes to selecting style and colours of mount. Prices are good. Quality of framing of sewn items is second to none (properly stretched and laced). It's a fast service too if you don't go when she's on holiday . I wouldn't go anywhere else.

What a treasure! Beautiful setting and a wonderland of stitch goodness awaits inside. Warm welcome from owner and four legged assistants. Could have spent even longer looking at the charts, kits and shop samples. Highly recommend a visit, worth the trip.
