Old Hendre Farm B&B and Holiday Lets

Lovely, warm and cosy B&B situated perfectly for those walking Offa's Dyke and other local trails. We were greeted with tea and Welsh cakes, and later provided with a delicious meal. Comfy beds and spacious lounge to relax those tired legs. Our host was so welcoming and lovely, even calling us to check we were OK as light levels were dropping towards the end of the day.

In all honesty, 5/5 isn't enough. A mix up meant our orginial Hotel plans fell through, and after 10 phones calls to local hotels and B&Bs, Val swooped in at the 11th hour and had a room availible for my girlfriend and I. Her only worry was the room would be sweltering, but Val put a fan in the room before we arrived and cooled it down to a very nice temperature. The owner, Valerie, is the kindest and sweetest lady I have ever met ! She was engaging and interested, going so far as to ensure she knew our names from the moment we arrived, and in turn, was able to introduce us to other patrons of the B&B. Vals wealth of knowledge of the area meant she could give us help with directions to where we wanted to go and took a genuine interest in what we did after we returned. The room was spacious and beautiful, the bed was of a good size (i'm a large fellow, and had plenty of space) and the shower/ensuite bathroom was amazing. I would go door to door and tell people how amazing Old Hendre and Val are if I could. All I can say is, if you are going to monmouth, this is where you will want to stay.
