I owned a static caravan at Irfon River Caravan Park for 11 years until early December 2022 when I arranged to have it removed from site. The reason for me deciding to remove the caravan was due to a 50% hike in siting the caravan by the new owners of the park Mr & Mrs Hilden. Up until 2021 caravan owners paid an annual site licence fee payable to the previous owners by 28 February each year covering an annual site licence which was reviewed each year by the previous owners. Right out of the blue the new owners introduced on 27 July 2022 an additional fee of 1000 plus vat which they called a lease payment which they wanted paid by 01/09/2022. Very strange the new owners still retained the site fee payable by 28 February each year. So we had a situation where caravan owners were expected to pay a lease fee on 1 September each year and a site fee on 28 February each year. The imposition of and reason for a lease fee I could not obtain from the new owners despite a number of correspondence between them and myself. Quite a number of other caravan owners have sold up and left site and some were quite upset by the action of the new owners. I am quite sad to have had to sell my caravan and move off site as the site itself is quite pleasant but the thought of paying 4000 or so each year for siting my caravan was a no brainer.
