Beautiful place, second time coming. Camped over new years, had thunder and lightning to bring in the new year. Marion is a wonderful host and lovely to speak to. Great access to cadair idris,, reasonably priced

Stayed for a couple of nights last week, basic but perfect for Cadar walks. Toilet with sink and cold water, shower and water supply and thats it, absolutely perfect for a bit of wild camping. Marian Is lovely, welcoming and informative. Bit pricey at 12 per night but your paying for the location, literally 100 yards from the start of the path. Showers work with 20p coins for 2 mins, take 30 seconds to warm up but I had a red hot shower that was bliss for 60p. Ill definitely be going back. Only sheep about were up by the lake so you can let the dogs run free for the first mile of the path up from the cafe. Great park with a lake and benches in the field next door, cracking spot for your tea or brekkie.

Where We're Going We Don't Need Eyes
I'm going to admit this is a difficult one to review, I'm definitely torn! A quiet, "walkers", site just off the A487. Dog friendly which is great. The location is fantastic, especially for Cadair Idris via Minfford path (including Cwm Cau). You can walk to the start of the walk from the site in about 2 mins. Also on a clear night the night sky is fantastic - I've not been anywhere in the UK this clear for a very long time. Vast array of stars and clarity of the milky way. However the facilities on the site are VERY basic (especially for the price*) and this might not suit everyone. No hot water for a face or body wash /shave or to wash dishes. A couple of showers for 20p (per 2 mins). If a bit of money invested in improving some basics then this would be 5* no problem. It would be hard to recommend to families when it might cost 50 a night and where there might be a greater need for wash facilities. * regards to the price, its 12pppn and not sure how this compares to others in the area. This was my first time camping in this area. Dog-friendliness: Site accepts dogs (for 1pdpn)
